The pages behind each answer, and which are yours
Every scan asks the engines your buyers' questions with web search on and keeps the sources each answer drew on. You can read that record answer by answer, or across the whole scan.
- Per answer: the pages, listings, comparisons and threads behind each answer on each engine, and whether any of them is yours.
- Across the scan: which sources reach the most answers in your field, so a change to one page or listing is weighed by how many answers read it.
- Yours and not yours: your own pages, review sites and directories, comparison posts and lists, help pages and community threads, each counted.
- What the engine weighed: the reasons the answer turned on, such as price, integrations or ease of setup, next to the source that supplied them.
- Readable or not: an audit of your site and your profiles elsewhere, showing what the engines can read and what they cannot.
- From one scan to the next: the same questions again, so you see which sources the engines picked up and which they dropped.
From a list of sites to a list of changes
A list of cited domains shows who the engines trust, and stops there. Talebeacon keeps the list and traces each source to the answers that read it, so every source comes with a change you can make and a count of the answers it reaches.
| A list of cited sites | TALEBEACONEach answer traced, then ranked | |
|---|---|---|
| What it gives | The domains the engines cite most in your field | Which sources sit behind each buyer question, and how many answers each one reaches |
| What it hides | Which answers a source changed, and whether it mentions you | Only answers to questions we did not ask; every source is tied to the answers that read it |
| What you can act on | A hunch about where to be listed | A ranked plan: the pages, listings, lists and threads that reach the most answers come first |
| Your own site | One domain among many | Audited page by page for what the engines can read |
The pages engines cite are often not the top search results. Only 12% of pages cited by ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity rank in Google's top 10 for the same search (Ahrefs, updated May 2026). That is why tracing the answers beats guessing from your Google rankings.
How it works
- 01
We ask with search on
Every buyer question goes to each engine with web search on, the way a buyer’s own question would. Which engines we read
- 02
We keep what each answer read
The sources behind every answer are stored with it and sorted into yours, review sites and directories, comparisons and lists, help pages, and community threads.
- 03
We count reach
A source read by forty answers outranks one read by two. That reach, with how much the source sways the answer, ranks the changes in your plan.
- 04
Your own pages, checked
We audit the pages of yours the engines read for what they can actually take from them. Those fixes join the plan beside the changes elsewhere, ranked the same way.
Questions people ask
Do you show the sources for every answer?
Yes, for every answer where the engine drew on a source. An answer that cites nothing is shown with none, because the engine answered from what it already knew.
Can you tell which source made the engine leave us out?
We show what the answer read and what it weighed; we don't claim to know the engine's mind. When the sources behind an answer say nothing about you, that is the finding, and the plan says where to be said.
How does this become a plan?
Each source the engines read is a place a change can land: a page of yours to fix, a listing to claim, a list to be on, a thread to join. The plan ranks them by how many answers each one reaches.
What do you send the engines?
We send the AI engines buyer questions we write, and nothing that identifies your account. Every service involved is described in our privacy notice.
